Connect to eduroam for Windows

Prerequisite

A wi-fi hotspot password (NOT OnePass password) is needed to connect to eduroam / CSL / Y5ZONE networks.  Visit CUHK Wi-Fi Hotspot Partnership Programme to obtain one.

連接 eduroam、CSL 或 Y5ZONE 無線網路時需要使用 wi-fi hotspot 密碼（並非 OnePass 密碼）。首次使用前請先到 CUHK Wi-Fi Hotspot Partnership Programme 網站登記。

 

Windows 11 22H2 / 23H2 Users

You may fail to connect to eduroam after upgraded to Windows 11 version 22H2 / 23H2 (which version am I using?).

• If you want to connect to campus Wi-Fi network, please use CUHK1x instead.
• If you failed to connect to eduroam Wi-Fi Network at other institutions, please contact us for help.

 

Solution
Steps:

1.  Click the Wi-Fi icon  on Windows taskbar.
       在工作列點選無線網路  。
   
   
   
   
2. Select eduroam wi-fi network, then click Connect.
       點選 eduroam 網絡，然後點選連接。
   
   
   
   
3. Enter your Computing ID@cuhk.edu.hk and Wi-Fi hotspot password, and then click OK. 
       輸入你的 Computing ID@cuhk.edu.hk 及 Wi-Fi hotspot 密碼後, 再點選 OK。
   
   
   
   
4. Click Show certificate details (marked with red box) when you're asked to continue connecting.  Verify the certificate details shown on your screen is exactly the same as the one shown below (marked with green box), then click Continue.
       當被問及是否繼續連線時，先點一下顯示詳細憑證資料（紅框示），然後核對憑證資料是否與以下截圖（綠框示） 相符，然後點選連線。
   
       Caution: DO NOT connect if the certificate detail shown on your screen does not match.
       注意：如果憑證資料不符下圖所示，切勿連線。
    
   
   
   
   
   
5. Done.
       完成。
