Clear the browser cache


How can I clear browser cache in my PC?

You can refer to the procedure below for different types of browser.

MS Edge

  1. To view your browsing history, in your Microsoft Edge browser, select FavoritesHistory.

  2. Select Clear history.

  3. Choose the types of data you want to remove from your PC (see the table below). For example, you may want to remove browsing history and cookies, but keep the history for autofill and passwords.

  4. Select Clear.

The URLs of sites you've visited, and the dates and times of each visit.

Cookies and saved website data

Info that sites store on your PC to remember your preferences, such as sign-in info or your location.

Cached data and files

Copies of pages, images, and other media content stored on your PC. The browser uses these copies to load content faster the next time you visit those sites.

Tabs I've set aside or recently closed

Tabs that you've set aside or recently closed.

Download history

The list of files you've downloaded from the web. This only deletes the list, not the actual files that you've downloaded.

Autofill data (includes forms and cards) 

Info that you've entered into forms, such as your email, credit card, or a shipping address.

Passwords

Passwords that you've saved for sites.

Media licenses

PlayReady/Digital Rights Management content licenses.

Website permissions

Select Manage permissions to see a list for each website, including location, full screen, pop-ups, and media autoplay.

 

 

Firefox

  1. Open Firefox.

  2. Click the menu button firefox menu icon and choose Options.

  3. Select the "Privacy & Security" panel.

  4. In the Cookies and Site Data section, click Clear Data….

  5. Remove the check mark in front of "Cookies and Site Data".
  6. With "Cached Web Content" check marked, click the Clear button.

  7. Close the "about:preferences" page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved. 

 

 

Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.

  2. At the top right, click More  symbol.png.

  3. Click Delete browsing data.

  4. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.

  5. Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.

  6. Click Clear data.



 

Safari

  1. In the Safari app safari icon on your Mac, choose History > Clear History, then click the pop-up menu.

  2. Choose how far back you want your browsing history cleared.
