Important:

Connect to CUHK1x Wi-Fi before installing printer driver or printing.  If you are using a hostel broadband or ResNet, please connect to VPN first.

 

A.  Self-Service Print Station 6 Driver Installation

Follow the instructions below to install the printer driver for Self-Service Printing.

1.    Download the Apeos C5570 Mac Print Driver from the link below.

Tips:  Click Apple Icon > About This Mac for your macOS version.


2.    Double click the downloaded file, then double click FUJIFILM Print Driver for Mac OS X Installer.pkg.


3.    The driver installation wizard will be launched.  Click Continue to proceed.


4.    Read the software license agreement carefully, then click Continue > Agree to proceed.


5.    Select the destination and then click Continue.


7.    Click Install to proceed with the installation.

8.    You will be asked to either use Touch ID or enter your Mac's username and password to confirm the installation. (click Install Software after entering Username and Password).


7.    Driver is installed. Click Close to leave the installer.

8.    Follow the steps here to complete the installation.

Click the Apple Icon > System Settings....


9.    Click Printers & Scanners and then choose Add Printer, Scanner or Fax....

10.  Click IP and input / select the following information.

2: Address: ssps6-wmylc.itsc.cuhk.edu.hk
3: Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LDP
4: Name: WMY LC – Self-Service Print Station 6
5: Location: WMY Learning Commons
6: Use: Select Software... (It will detect the driver automatically, if not, choose FF Print Driver for Mac OS X v2.3 and click OK)

Click Add to complete the setup.

11.  The printer installation is completed and click OK.


 

B.  Self-Service Print Station 6 Configuration

In Macintosh, the default settings of the Self-Service Print Station are: Simplex and A4 size. Users can further change the settings (different programs may have different interface). Here is the configuration procedure under Safari.

Safari

1.    Select File, then select Print.


2.    Select WMY LC – Self-Service Print Station 6 in Printer. Set Double-sided as On.



(2)  Configure Features and set Output Color as Black and White, then click OK.

(3)  Configure Job Accounting and set User Prompt as Billing ID Only, then click User Details Setup....

Define name for Billing ID and Passcode (digits only), then click OK.

Click OK to finish Job Accounting setup.

3.   Save the settings in Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset... > define Preset Name and click OK.


(Optional) Configure color print settings.

i.     Change the Output Color in Features (Step 2 (2)) to Color and click OK.

ii.    Save the settings in Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset... > define Preset Name and click OK.

 

C. Send Print Job to Self-Service Print Station 6

In Macintosh, the default settings of the Self-Service Print Station 6 are: Simplex and A4 size. Users can further change the settings.

For the configuration in Macintosh, different programs may have different interface. This guideline provides the configuration procedure for two common programs (Safari and Microsoft Word).

Important!

  1. Your print job is sent to the print station and waiting there for you to release. Go to the self-service print station located at Learning Commons, 6/F Wu Ho Man Yuen Building and follow the step shown in Pick up your Print Job to release and collect your print job.
  2. Your print jobs will be stored in the print station for 4 hours. If you do not release them within the time limit, they will be removed permanently.
  3. All transactions are directly charged through Octopus card and all printing charges are non-refundable.
  4. Remember to get back your Octopus card after use.

 

1.    Select File, then select Print....

2.    Select WMY LC – Self-Service Print Station 6 in Printer -> choose appropriate setting in Presets -> customise the print settings if necessary and click Print to send the print job.

Note: Please refer to Self-Service Print Station 6 Configuration for making a preset.

Reminded: *Check the configuration for each printing and ensure the print job information on printer.

3.    Click Print to print the selected webpage with your customized setting (as above).
